Reading

Reading is a key skill for any child to learn and is something we promote a love for at Wavell.

We ask that children read at least 3 times a week at home. Your child will have a reading record for their home reading to be recorded in and a school book will be sent home every night. You are welcome, however, to read any book with your child- so long as they are reading.

When reading with your child it is good to ask them questions to check their understanding of the text. This document has examples of questions that could be asked.
